Laura-Jane Payne
Lead Speech Pathologist
Laura-Jane has worked as a Speech Pathologist with clients of all ages, from infants through to the elderly, for almost a decade. She holds a Bachelor of Health Science and a Master of Speech Pathology from La Trobe University. She is also a certified Orofacial Myologist.
Laura-Jane is trained to provide assessment and therapy for clients with orofacial myofunctional disorders, including those with tethered oral tissues (e.g. tongue, cheek and lip ties), feeding issues, swallowing disorders, sleep-disordered breathing (e.g. snoring), dysarthria, and temporomandibular joint dysfunction (TMD).
Laura-Jane has completed extensive training in the diagnosis and therapeutic support for those with a diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder and is trained to administer the Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule (ADOS) to support a formal diagnosis of Autism. She is also certified as a Hanen-trained clinician and is registered to provide both the It Takes Two to Talk and More Than Words programs. These two programs are used to train parents of children who are struggling with their social communication and language development.
Laura-Jane is passionate about collaborative, client-centred practice. She provides interventions that focus on supporting the client, their family, and their care team to maximise the quality and consistency of their supports and achieve their goals.
